Tis’ the season! Whether you are attending holiday parties or just want to get in the festive mood, here are ten makeup looks to inspire you this holiday season.
…but first, here is a little cheat sheet to guide you through winter makeup trends.
- Autumn Orange and Navy Blue
This color duo is iconic and will have heads turning wherever you go. The orangey tones will accentuate blue eyes while the navy tones will make brown eyes pop! Pair this makeup look with some tall boots and a jean jacket for a casual ensemble or with a navy dress for an evening look.
- Reddish Browns
This is the classic autumn color combination, mimicking the hues of the fall foliage. The brown tones will complement all eye colors, but the reddish hues will especially make green eyes pop! Get creative and play up a dull, brown eyeshadow with some gold glitter liner for that extra sparkle.
- Copper and Nude

Copper and red tones are perfect for the fall months and complement every eye color. The red undertones complement green eyes, the copper hues accentuate blue and both of them combined make brown eyes pop! Paired with a nude lip, this combination is on trend for fall and super wearable.
- Sultry Satin Taupes
-Taupe (noun): a moderate to dark brownish gray, sometimes slightly tinged with purple, yellow, or green (via dictionary.com)
If you are not into wearing colorful makeup, opt for taupey nude tones. These neutral hues are easy to wear and can be paired with a variety of outfits. If you have a darker skin color, you will want a purple rather than a gray taupe (like above).
- Dusty Rose
For a naturally flushed winter look, incorporate some rosey tones into your makeup look. A dusty rose blush will give you that “I was just outside in the freezing cold” flush to your cheeks. Paired with rosy eyeshadows and a dusty rose lip, you will give off an innocent and youthful look.
- Berry and Gold
Timeless as the holidays themselves, berry tones and gold will never go out of style. Perfect for all skin tones, you will be the epitome of elegance wearing this combination. Pair this makeup with a little black dress for a sultry, sophisticated vibe, or with a sparkly gold dress if you’re feeling more festive.
- Matte Cranberry
If you’re feeling bolder, go for a monochromatic makeup look. Cranberry colors are always on trend for fall and winter, so this look is perfect for both seasons! Pair this makeup with a simple outfit so you won’t run the risk of looking tacky by having too much going on.
- Seductive Simplicity
The vampy lip is infamous in the winter season. Combined with a simple eye look and paired with a simple black dress, you will achieve the seductive yet “I didn’t really try” look. If you’re going for a more casual vibe, pair this makeup with some tall boots and a suede jacket.
- The Classic Charm
As timeless as the cherry red lip is, so is it paired with gold shimmer and a black winged liner. No need to mimic this difficult cut-crease technique on your eyes, simply blend a shimmery gold shadow on your lids and add a thin, black winged liner. This look would pair well with some pearls and an Audrey Hepburn-esque updo.
And last but not least…
- New Year’s Eve for Your Eyes
If you are feeling extra this holiday season, rock a smokey eye with some inner corner glitter to spice things up. If you don’t want to be as bold with the glitter, dab a little on the center of your eyelid for a subtle sparkle.
