On April 25, 2020 Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will return to the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans for one of the city’s hottest shows of the entire year — the Sixth Annual Treme Threauxdown. Guest stars will be announced in the next few weeks, but over the past five installments the Treme Threauxdown has hosted everyone from Usher to Dierks Bentley and from Nick Jonas to Andra Day —plus many other surprise guest artists from New Orleans and beyond.

At the 2019 installment alone, the Threauxdown included guest appearances by Shaggy, Lauren Daigle, Boz Scaggs, Anthony Hamilton, Leon Bridges, Jon Batiste, G Love, and Anders Osborne.

Hot on the heels of Trombone Shorty’s recent trip to Havana, Cuba with his own music education foundation, this year he is extremely excited to bring Cuban rock star Cimafunk back to New Orleans to open the Threauxdown. Cimafunk has been called the James Brown of Cuba, and was named to Billboards 10 Latin Artists to Watch in 2019 list, with the magazine calling him “Cuba’s revelation of the year.”

“Jazz Fest has been a vital New Orleans tradition for nearly half a century, but in the last few years, a festival within the festival has sprouted up and started capturing the attention of fans and musicians alike: The Treme Threauxdown.” – The Boston Globe

“…the annual Jazz Fest lagniappe.” – OffBeat

“…so full of performance energy, New Orleans tradition and guest drop-ins, it felt like the festival in miniature.” – Billboard
