Over the last couple of years, I have begun to take more time to focus on my health. Most nights I end up going down a rabbit hole watching beauty routines, the best new makeup products, and much more. The more videos I watched, the more I realized I didn’t know much about the beauty industry. I stumbled upon an abundance of clean beauty unboxing videos and makeup routines, and from that point on, clean beauty has been my new infatuation.

Some of The Best Clean Beauty Brands You Need to Know About

As the years progress, more and more companies have begun to take it upon themselves to make their products cleaner. Below are a couple of my favorite clean beauty and skincare companies.

1. Westman Atelier by Gucci Westman

Gucci Westman founded makeup company Westman Atelier in 2018. Westman’s makeup aims to give women a luxurious yet clean and simple look. Westman Atelier products are constantly reassessed to benefit customers as new information comes to light. Westman believes that “makeup should do more than enhance — it should calm, replenish and balance.” It even includes a long list of ingredients that they think should and SHOULDN’T be included within beauty and skincare. My all-time favorite product from her makeup line is the Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in the color Petal. This blush stick goes on so smoothly and gives the apples of your cheeks a little bit of color without looking too oily or cakey. It is easy to apply and is very blendable as well. This product is a 10/10; highly recommended from me!!

2. Ilia Beauty

Sasha Plavsick founded Ilia Beauty in 2011 in the search for something new. Ilia believes “skin [should] look like skin” and recognizes the importance of creating products that are unique, safe, and have potent formulas that are made to protect and revive your skin. A great thing about Ilia is that consumers can use the majority of products interchangeably. One of my favorite products is the Multi Lip and Cheek Stick. It’s the perfect product to throw in your purse and use on the go! It’s a light and buildable product, which is great depending on how much makeup you like to wear. Another one of my favorite Ilia Beauty products is the Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil. It’s made with a smooth and non-sticky formula and gives just the right amount of color! If that’s not enough, Ilia uses sustainable packaging from materials like recycled glass and aluminum.

3. Tower28 Beauty

Tower28 is a female-founded company based in Los Angeles, California, that is vegan and cruelty-free. The company started in 2019, and although they do not have a wide variety of products, their products are to die for! The company stands for community, healthy fun, and clean living. Tower28’s Shine on Lip Jellies are the perfect mix of lip balm and lip gloss. They leave your lips hydrated all day while also giving them the ideal amount of color and shine. All the ingredients within their products are non-toxic, fragrance-free, and easy to pronounce. If there is a product that I recommend going out and buying at this very moment, I highly suggest their Shine on Lip Jellies. Girls, it’s time to go out and get those lips hydrated, full of color, and kissable!

4. Beautycounter

Beautycounter was founded in 2013 with the mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone. Beautycounter is explicitly committed to not testing products on animals, sustainable packaging, and being 100% transparent with their ingredients. If you’re unfamiliar, Beautycounter is a newer brand with a broad line of high-performing beauty products, including facial skincare, body care, men’s care, suncare, and makeup, all formulated without using 1,800 potentially harmful ingredients. This brand upholds strict standards for its formulations, testing, and transparency to the consumer, which is part of why they have become such a well-respected company. And, I really love the products! I’m excited about some favorites right now, like the Brilliant Brow Gel, Countercontrol All Over Acne Treatment, and Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer.

I look forward to trying out new products and finding what works right for my skin and others. Some best sellers and client favorites are the Overnight Resurfacing Peel, Charcoal Mask, and Beyond Gloss.

5. Vapour Beauty

Vapour Beauty was founded in 2009 and consists of products that are made with plant-powered formulas. Plant-powered formulas allow you to maintain your high-performance makeup look while enhancing your natural skin. Vapour Beauty supports sustainability, purity, and health with the aim to be transparent with the ingredients they put in their products. In addition, Vapour is a cruelty-free company that refuses to sell its products to countries that require animal testing. Vapour Beauty is just one of many brands aiming to transform the beauty industry into one that is safer and healthier for its customers!

Places to Shop For Clean Products:

Now you may be curious as to where to find products like the ones mentioned above. Don’t worry because I have you covered! Credo Beauty is a great online website that sells ONLY clean makeup and skincare. Credo also has stores located in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago. Credo sells a wide range of brands, products, and price points. Though Sephora is not known as a primary carrier of clean products, they added a clean makeup and clean skincare section to their site. Additionally, Ulta is another excellent place to get a wide variety of clean products. In conjunction with these sites, many clean beauty companies have their own websites, which are excellent places to purchase!
