It is officially April, which means Spring has officially sprung. The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the sun has reappeared. As the weather changes, so should your winter beauty routine. Although daunting, it is time to open up your clustered makeup drawer, cabinet full of miscellaneous items, free sample products, and cosmetic packages you have yet to open. Whether you are one that looks forward to a fresh start to the season, or the type of person that would rather keep the dust trapped in your beauty organizer just to avoid the tedious task, spring cleaning is a must.

Being a bit of a beauty product hoarder myself, it has come to my attention that throwing away your beloved, unused, dust covered products can be harder than it may appear. All beauty lovers know the feeling of attachment you may have to a certain bottle of that oh-so-perfect aloe infused morning toner, or the glistening eye-shadow sample you picked out when receiving your yearly birthday gift at Sephora. But let us not forget the amazing feeling of buying newly packaged (unexpired) products. A product purge is essential not only to clear the clutter, but to freshen up your skin for the new season.

Now that the cold, winter air is behind us, there is no need for heavy face moisturizers or highly pigmented concealer. This season is all about a fresh start (and facial routine). Pull out your neutral eyeshadows, pastel colored lip gloss, SPF moisturizer, beach hair texture spray, and light foundation that your freckles can shine through, because spring is about that au natural look. Now it’s time to stock up on some Clorox wipes and trash bags so there is room for your fresh, newly released products. Here are a few new, original Spring beauty buy ideas to help you navigate through the overwhelming and all-consuming beauty supply stores.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: This lip sleeping mask will be your savior if you are still recovering from dry, chapped, and peeling winter lips. With a subtle pink tint, your lips will have a natural, shimmery summer glow. In addition, your lips will go from dull to plump and smooth.

Summer Fridays’ R+R Facemask: This rose gold packaged mask screams springtime and will make your skin glow in preparation for summer, rosé, rooftops, and summer parties. This mask will help to relieve your skin of impurities and remove dead skin cells.

Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner: This toner will help rebalance your skin without stripping it of its natural oils. Spring is the best time to lighten your product load, minimize chemical use, and embrace your natural glow. Use this toner in the morning in place of your daily scrub or wash that can be too rough on your facial complexion.

These products will help rejuvenate your skin and help you to embrace the Spring season. Here’s to healthy skin that will make you confident for the upcoming, make-up-free summer heat. There is nothing better than breezy Spring nights, enjoying a homemade cheese board while rocking your new seasonal face mask.
