Ah yes, winter time. Time to spend every waking moment eating food and drinking with your family, and as if that’s not stressful enough for your skin, it’s also the only time of year you’re not in that New Orleans heat! Even just being home for two weeks can destroy all the hard, moisturizing work that the months of Louisiana humidity has put in; so this holiday season, make sure to add one of these deep moisturizers to your wish-list, and save your cracked, winter skin.
- Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion

This moisturizer is perfect for oily and acne prone skin, and at $40, one tube will last you at least an entire year. This product also doubles as a great primer!
- Philosophy Hope in a Jar

This cream is luxuriously thick, so generously dab it on before you go to bed and wake up sans-dry spots! Not to mention, at $39, you can buy this moisturizer in the book store and charge it to accounts receivable. Thanks mom and dad!
- Mario Badescu Rose Hips Nourishing Oil

Facial oils are my personal faves, and this one will get your drab winter skin glowing in no time. If you haven’t given facial oils a try, this is the perfect one to get your feet wet with – and the lovely rose smell is a definite plus in my book.
- Origins High Potency Night–A–Mins Mineral–Enriched Renewal Cream
PHOTO: Sephora
If you’re looking for an organic solution for your cracked skin, this origins night cream is your answer. This product has Vitamin C, so even if you don’t see the sun even once this break, your skin will!
- Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer
PHOTO: Target
Last but definitely not least, this daily moisturizer by Aveeno is the most wallet friendly option on this list. You can pick up this product at any CVS, and it happens to be one of my favorite drugstore buys. Unlike the other moisturizers, though, be sure to add this one to your morning routine because it contains SPF!
If your skin is no bueno right now, any of these moisturizers will be your holiday miracle this season. Get rid of those deep-seeded cracks and dry spots and give your skin the TLC it deserves this winter! And make sure to keep up the routine when you get to New Orleans to prevent future fine lines and wrinkles.
