New Orleans has a food scene like no other. We are one of the few cities in the country that has its own unique cuisine, mimicked by many. However, there is one thing we had been missing until just very recently, something college towns everywhere have had for years that we have not: Insomnia Cookies. For those unlucky few who have not heard, a location of the cookie bakery chain (that is open until 3:00 AM AND delivers) has just opened right on Maple Street.

For me, this is a game changer. Who doesn’t want warm cookies arriving right at their door at almost any hour of the day? Think of the possibilities! It’s almost midnight, you’re studying for a test, and you are in desperate need of a pick-me-up. Order cookies! It’s 2:00 AM, you’ve been out partying all night, and you’re craving something other than Boot pizza. Get some cookies! I personally think this fills a niche we have been lacking. Creole Creamery is a decently far walk, District Donuts is even farther, and sometimes I just want something sweet in my mouth in under twenty minutes.

Not only is Insomnia sure to put a smile on your face, it’s sure to make those you love happy as well. Insomnia has a selection of cookie cakes that make the perfect gift for any occasion. Send one to your friend for their birthday, to your roommate as an apology, or to your significant other just to say “I love you!” There is never a time when cookies would not be appreciated.

Insomnia has a wide range of cookie flavors to satisfy anyone’s taste, including classic Chocolate Chunk, Oatmeal Raisin, Double Chocolate Mint, Peanut Butter Chip, and many more. They also offer a brownie, and sell milk to accompany whatever you choose. They have a duo deal, which includes two cookies and a glass of milk, a six pack, a twelve pack, an eighteen pack, and a twenty-four pack, as well as even larger catering packages. Insomnia also does ice cream sandwiches! There is really nothing not to love about this place.

So get on up and head to Insomnia Cookies at 7527 Maple Street, or don’t and have them come to you! And no this is not an advertisement, I am just passionate about cookies.
