The queen of fashion inspiration herself, the Biebs‘ one last lonely girl, Mrs. Hailey Baldwin Bieber, recently released her skincare brand, Rhode Skin, named after her middle name. She has released three products: Peptide Glazing Fluid, Barrier Restore Cream, and a Peptide Lip Treatment that comes in three scents: Watermelon Slice, Salted Caramel, and Unscented. The products sold out within a day as the Rhode Skin drop had been long awaited by all of Hailey’s obsessed fans – myself included. Hailey marketed the brand through her influential social media platforms while also creating a Rhode Instagram account where she displayed images of the products. Luckily, I was able to get my hands on all three products… and they did not disappoint.

Hailey has recently been trending for her “glazed donut” reference when talking about her complexion. This means dewy, moisturized, glowy skin with the shine and shimmer of a glazed donut – who would not want that? Of course, I was skeptical of buying products from a celebrity as most tend not to live up to the hype. Nevertheless, when Hailey Bieber says something is top-notch, how could I not believe her? Her complexion is flawless, and I could only hope using her products could give me a similar effect.

First and foremost, I am obsessed with the packaging. The minimal gray packaging with white font would look good sitting in anyone’s bathroom. While I wish the products were larger, I cannot say I was surprised because it is a celebrity brand. But, for $29, I hoped to get a little more bang for my buck. Nevertheless, the Rhode Skin packaging perfectly matches the minimalist trend that fills my daily social media feed.

Let’s start with the Peptide Glazing Fluid; I was hesitant that this product would actually do anything. However, this product claims to plump and hydrate the skin, leaving an illuminating “glazed finish.” The key ingredients include Niacinamide, Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, and Marula Oil. You may be wondering what those ingredients do for your skin, and thankfully, each ingredient’s purpose is written out and easy to understand on the Rhode Skin website. All the ingredients support hydrated skin and a healthy skin barrier. I applied this product after my cleanser and before any moisturizer. Believe it or not, my skin did have the shine and shimmer of a glazed donut. The product applied smoothly to my skin and left me with a glowy finish that was perfect for summertime. Even though the product did not make my skin feel as hydrated as I expected, it paired nicely with the moisturizer, leaving me with dewy skin.

Next, I apply the Barrier Restore Cream on top, which soothes and “comforts a compromised skin barrier” and nourishes and “hydrates the skin.” This product is undoubtedly my favorite of the three and made my skin feel hydrated and clean. The key ingredients include Shea Butter, Squalane, Peptides, Açai, and Niacinamide. Similar to the previous products, all ingredient benefit details are under the product on the website. The consistency of this moisturizer is decently thick, which I love, and applied nicely on my skin. What I loved the most is that you do not need too much product to feel the effects. I only used about a quarter-sized amount, which was enough product for my whole face.

For my last step, the Peptide Lip Treatment “restores and replenishes dry lips” and “helps lock-in moisture for plumper, softer lips.” The key ingredients include Shea Butter, Peptides, Cupuaçu, and Babassu. I got the unscented lip treatment and am in love with it. The treatment moisturized my lips and kept them hydrated even after the glossy finish wore off. I am a huge lip balm girl – my go-to being palmer’s cocoa butter lip balm – and this product was incredible.

All in all, I have to give it to Hailey. I really wanted to love these products, and I honestly did. My skin has never felt healthier, and I look forward to seeing what’s in store for Rhode Skin in upcoming launches because I will be purchasing.
