The start of the global pandemic in March 2020 and the nationwide lockdown that ensued was a difficult time, but no one was complaining when we got to lounge in comfortable clothing all day. This sparked a widespread love for fashionable loungewear: looking stylish on camera while feeling even better in our sweatsuits. Vancouver-based fashion brand Aritzia saw their TNA athleisure line explode during this period, and the company has continued to grow tremendously since.

Emma Chamberlain, one of our generation’s favorite Internet personalities, has recently launched a campaign with one of Aritzia’s sub-brands, Sunday Best, after taking a long break from social media. She has been creating content since 2017 and realized that in order for her to regrasp her understanding of what was important to her, Emma had to step away from the camera. She has already grabbed the fashion industry by the horns, collaborating and landing partnerships with Louis Vuitton, GANNI, Cartier, and Calvin Klein.

This new Aritzia collection featuring the YouTube star has already turned heads, a perfect encapsulation of Emma’s personality and style. This isn’t always the status quo for celebrities, who oftentimes try to peddle out fast-fashion merchandise that very obviously had zero creative input from the star themself and is not at all a reflection of their personal style. Sunday Best X Emma features preppy pleated skirts, checkered cardigans, satin dresses, and fitted cargo pants – a variety of styles that are already trending for this fall.

Let’s examine the sweater vest: a must-have staple this Fall ’22 season. On a warmer day, pair this sweater vest with a checkered skirt, some Reeboks, and a cute headband. On a colder morning, layer the vest over a collared button-down or a turtleneck long-sleeve, add a pair of neutral-colored cargo pants, and finish off the look with a pair of chunky boots. And don’t forget accessories! Like the sweater vest, the versatility of the entire Sunday Best X Emma Chamberlain collection is what makes us fall in love with her and Aritzia all over again!
