Every year, a slew of celebrities parades down the Grammy Awards red carpet. Their ensembles often spark trends that translate into everyday life and serve as fashion inspiration for the coming year. Due to the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, black has dominated the red carpets. Although black has prevailed on the red carpet, the same is not true for street style. All over the world, people are wearing striking colors and patterns and letting their individuality shine through. I have compiled a list of my best-dressed celebrities wearing both black and colored garb to strut down the red carpet, and hopefully inspire your 2018 looks.

1. Rita Ora in Ralph & Russo

Rita Ora stuns in a classic color and silhouette.

2. Lady Gaga in Armani

Lady Gaga’s train offers a balance to the see-through portion of the gown.

3. Heidi Klum in Ashi Couture and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals

My jaw dropped when I saw this picture for the first time. So daring and unique.

4. Janelle Monae in Dolce & Gabbana

I can’t stop admiring the bow tie. Janelle perfectly mixed male and female style for an effortlessly cool look.

5. Hailee Steinfeld in Alexandre Vauthier

Hailee Steinfeld’s white dress contrasted with her metallic purple boots makes for a fierce look.

6. Camila Cabello in Vivienne Westwood

Camila Cabello redefines old Hollywood glamor in this beautiful red gown.

7. Kesha in Nudie

Kesha’s silk blouse perfectly complements the cream-colored embellishments on her workwear-inspired suit.

8. Andra Day in Victoria Hayes and Christian Louboutin sandals

Menswear is becoming a major influence on women’s fashion, as we can see in this bright tux-dress.

9. Anna Kendrick in Balmain and La Perla and Casadei pumps

Anna Kendrick feminizes her suit with an embroidered top and a pair of periwinkle pumps.

Some of these looks are definite predictors of what we’ll be seeing in fashion for the rest of 2018. What were your favorite looks this awards season? Let me know in the comments.
