In my opinion, belts are an underrated accessory. When I think of belts, what comes to mind is the style with horse bits on the side that I was forced to wear when I was younger riding horses. Recently, all over my Instagram explore page and Pinterest I have seen people styling super unique and eclectic belts in a variety of ways. Who says belts are just meant to go through belt loops?! The accessory is an effortless way to elevate your look and accentuate your waist or hips, styling them through all seasons and aesthetics.
Styling Ideas
Belts can be worn in so many ways, such as high up in order to give the look of a smaller waist and accentuate your hips, or down on the hips for a more laid back fit. I love the look of a big leather belt with a statement buckle resting on the hips, paired with a simple dress or skirt underneath.

Another to-die-for style is the summer look of a chain belt over a crochet skirt. It’s so effortless and adds elements of different textures to the outfit.

I have also been obsessed with the “rockstar girlfriend” vibe. This entails a graphic tee and low-waisted jeans combo paired with a large disk belt (this belt style specifically is what sparked my attention to the overall belt trend recently).

Lastly, I love this going-out look – the chain teddy bear belt ties in the gold in the necklace and elevates the look as a whole. My eyes are specifically drawn to the look of the long silk-style skirt in contrast with the belt.

Where to Buy
Some of the coolest belts I have seen are vintage. Always keep an eye out at thrift stores and vintage shops for similar styles. Also, some keywords to use that could help narrow your online search are ‘bohemian disk belts,’ ‘metal disk belts,’ ‘metal belts,’ ‘vintage belt buckles,’ etc.
I recommend searching on Poshmark, eBay, and Etsy first, and then expanding to Depop.
