As a college student who has a passion for fitness, I am always trying to find new workouts. Finding time between classes and other school activities to go to the gym can be challenging and discouraging. I have found, however, that considering the amount of time that I spend on social media, specifically Instagram, I could easily find a time to work out. Following fitness influencers who post daily inspirational workouts motivates me to fit in that extra workout on a busy Monday.
These influencers post tutorials ranging from quick at-home workouts, to more challenging workouts to do at the gym. Users can access their workout routines for free on Instagram, or they can subscribe and pay a monthly or yearly fee to access their official programs. There’s nothing more encouraging than having a personal trainer in your pocket! Here are my top five favorite Instagram influencers to follow.
Kayla Itsines is a 27-year-old personal trainer from Australia and one of the most popular fitness trainers in the world. She shares her vigorous workout routines and easy-to-make healthy meals with her 11.1 million Instagram followers. What I personally love about Kayla is that she interacts with her followers, answering questions in the comments and posting material that her followers ask for. Kayla’s fitness app, Sweat, promotes her BBG workouts, which are only 28 minutes and can be done at home or at the gym! In order to access her BBG program on the app, users need to subscribe and pay either a monthly or yearly fee. For those who don’t want to pay, Kayla posts many workout tutorials on her Instagram, which anyone can access for free!
2. @KelseyWells
Kelsey Wells is also a trainer for the Sweat app. Kelsey started her fit and healthy lifestyle after having her son, and she became encouraged to inspire others to get in shape. Her PWR program offers multiple weight exercise tutorials. PWR is part of the Sweat app, so in order to access the full program users need to subscribe. She also posts workouts on her Instagram as well for anyone to access!
As one of Hollywood’s top professional fitness trainers and health coaches, Jeanette Jenkins is an expert at motivating her followers. She started the Hollywood Trainer Club, where she shares over 500 workout tutorials and over 150 healthy meal recipes! To inspire her followers to stay motivated throughout the year, she plans different fitness challenges that start on a specific date, lasting for a certain amount of days, so anyone can follow along at home.
Yoga is one workout that I have always wanted to get into. I have taken a few classes, but let’s just say that I am definitely not the most flexible person. While scrolling through my Instagram feed one day, I came across Jacquelyn, a yoga and spiritual instructor. Her goal is to inspire people to learn mindfulness, de-stressing, and relaxation techniques, while also getting a great workout in through her yoga program called Get Stretchy.
5. @BrittnebabeBrittne’s Instagram account is nothing short of inspiring. What I love about her is that she is completely open with her followers, sharing her experience on how she got to where she is today. She admits not having much time during the week to go to the gym due to her busy schedule, but that doesn’t stop her from exercising. Brittne’s rigorous 21-day fitness challenge can be done in the comfort of one’s home. There are new fitness contests every Monday, and she gives away up to $5,000 for the best 21-day challenge transformations!
