Thanksgiving is approaching with lightning speed, meaning that you’re probably about to experience the epic highs and lows of dinner with your extended family. We cousins are coming back from the various states we all ran off to, and the aunts and uncles are preparing all the fixings to satiate our starving, dining hall-weary appetites.
In the lead-up to this Thanksgiving, I find myself thinking a lot about my Nana. Grandmothers are the essence of a family and the glue that binds them together, even when we haven’t had the opportunity to connect as a family in a long time. As everyone gets older, we get busier and busier, with less time to spend with our loved ones. It’s the worst feeling when you suddenly realize that the months have been flying by, and you haven’t seen your grandmother in too long a time. That’s why this year, I’m emphasizing the importance of a good Thanksgiving outfit. If I’m only going to get to see my Nana twice a year, I’m showing up in style.
When I’m a grandmother, I expect my children and grandchildren to serve both good food and good looks; so obviously, I want to start the trend now. It’s important to practice what you preach, and I will be doing so by putting on an outfit that will have my aunts rolling their eyes at my effort and my Nana smiling with pride.
I’ve recently become kind of a Revolve warrior, so I scoured the site and compiled the perfect Thanksgiving outfit lookbook. No more blue jeans with white sweaters; we’ve grown past that point now. I’m rolling up to Marujo’s family dinner with a tall boot and an apple pie.
