The Super Bowl halftime show is always a must see. The costumes, the set, and the performance are always over the top. However, this year’s halftime show was like no other. While watching the halftime show in 2022, we were transported back to the early 2000s. Early 2000s stars like Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, and Mary J. Blige gave the performance of a lifetime. Not only were their performances amazing, but how about those outfits? The audience was truly blown away with the costumes of this year’s performers. Let’s take a look at Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Eminem’s outfit choice!
Out of all those who performed, Snoop Dogg for sure popped with color. The iconic and renowned Snoop Dogg wore a blue and yellow bandana tracksuit designed by dressmaker Talia Coles. I don’t think it was any coincidence that Snoop coordinated his outfit with the LA Rams colors. Snoop Dogg was not only dressed in an elevated tracksuit, but also wore the classic Chuck Taylor canvas Converse—You can never go wrong with a simple yet iconic white Converse sneaker! Snoop Dogg made sure to stand out while also keeping comfort in mind.

Kendrick Lamar’s outfit was hands down the most intense and heartfelt. While it was a simple black suit on the outside, the meaning behind it is one of a kind. Kendrick performed in a suit created by the one and only Virgil Abloh. The black suit was not only designed by Virgil, but was a part of the last collection he created for Louis Vuitton before his death. While Kendrick’s outfit paid tribute to Virgil, his backup dancers wore sashes that said ‘Dre Day.’ There is something so heartwarming when celebrities support and pay tribute to one another.

MARY J. BLIGE
While there were amazing performances among Mary J. Blige, she for sure stole the stage and dazzled the crowd with her outfit. Aside from being a nine-time Grammy-winning artist, Blige is known for her elaborate, show stopping performance outfits. The artist performed in a two-piece blinged out and bedazzled set designed by Peter Dundas. Her sparkling two piece was styled with a pair of white thigh high boots covered in cheetah print. Her outfit doesn’t stop there! She made sure to coordinate her fingerless gloves and chunky belt to tie the entire ensemble together.

Last but certainly not least, amongst all the amazing talent at the Super Bowl halftime show, Eminem was sure to leave the crowd speechless. The artist was dressed in a classic black hoodie worn with a baseball cap. Eminem elevated his simple yet comfortable outfit with a customer pair of Air Jordan 3 PE sneakers. The shoe features the artist’s signature E logo on the tongue along with a rubber “Hi! My name is…” name tag on the heel. The tag was complete with ‘Slim Shady’ written in handwriting to represent the artist’s rap persona.
