Spring has nearly sprung, so it’s time we leave our smokey eyes and heavy winter makeup looks behind. Taking some inspiration from the spring 2018 fashion weeks around the world, here are some trends to change up your makeup routine this spring.

Keep it subtle

Michael Kors featured models with an “untouched” makeup look. His makeup artists applied skincare products and a minimal water-based foundation to give an even skin tone with a natural finish.

Tory Burch also kept with the minimal makeup vibe with a smudgy brown eyeliner to give some definition. A brown liner will still make your eyes pop but is less harsh than the black kohl liner you use in the winter. Pairing it with a nude lip, Tory’s makeup artists kept the look light and simple.

Coach’s makeup artist, Pat McGrath, used a little more product for the models’ subtle look. Applying a taupe eyeshadow to the top lid and a black liner to the bottom lash line, the models in the Coach show gave off a subtle rock band vibe.

Go for the glow

The models walking in the Fenty by Puma show were obviously wearing RiRi’s new makeup line, Fenty Beauty. The makeup artists used a yellow-gold highlighter all over the cheek bones and inner corners of the eye for a goddess-like glow.

Similar to Michael Kors’ “untouched” makeup look, Victoria Beckham went for makeup that resembled spa skin. Her makeup artists kept the looks “balmy, healthy, and glowing,” said Pat McGrath, the artist. They first prepped the skin with an illuminating crème and finished with tons of highlighter. The lips were very nude with some barely-there eye makeup.

Following the healthy and fresh look was Alexander Wang, whose makeup artists used a peachy blush and a simple lip balm for pops of color. The models were topped off with a sparkly highlighter all over the eyelids, but not on the cheekbones.

Don’t be afraid of a pop of color

Naeem Khan opted for a pop of color on the lips, while keeping the rest of the face fairly simple. His makeup artists used a simple taupe eyeshadow on the lid to keep the focus on the raspberry lipstick coated in an extreme shine gloss.

Oscar de la Renta kept the subtle trend going, except for the minimal pop of baby blue liner under the winged liner. This is a really easy look to achieve and the pop of color can be anything you want!
