
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“College student” is almost synonymous with “on a budget.” In a city like New Orleans, it can be hard to find cheaper dining options that still bear quality. No matter what the occasion, sometimes it’s just nice to treat yourself to a great meal at a restaurant not affiliated with Sodexo. Thankfully, many New Orleans staples offer happy hour deals, guaranteeing that you can get more bang for your buck. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Famous for their mouthwatering, authentic NOLA food, Superior Seafood is a restaurant almost every Tulane student is guaranteed to be familiar with. Located on St. Charles Avenue and easily accessible by the streetcar, Superior’s mouthwatering Crawfish Mac and Cheese, delicious Fried Alligator bites, and perfectly-cooked filet mignon are just a few highlights from their extensive Creole-inspired menu. Their happy hour deal is one for the books. From 4:00-6:30pm every day of the week, enjoy 75 cent oysters, $4 wines and draft beers, and their large frozen cocktails for the price of a small. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Gyu-Kaku is another personal favorite restaurant of mine that is a great start or end to an afternoon in the French Quarter. Gyu-Kaku provides authentic Japanese <em>yakiniku</em> (grilled barbeque) in which patrons cook their own food right at their table using a built in charcoal grill. Guy-Kaku also offers premade rice, noodle, and meat dishes. A great place to take visitors, or to enjoy with friends, Gyu-Kaku pairs great food with an equally great experience. Their happy hour extends to mostly all food items on the menu, each with a 10-20% price deduction. The hours of this deal vary per week, so call ahead!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Bower is an upscale dining experience that offers an affordable happy hour. From 4-6pm Monday-Saturday enjoy your $12 charcuterie board while sipping on some of their $7 house cocktails. Some fan favorites are the Mood Ring, Paloma, and Rosemary’s Baby. Also, all beer is $4 and wine is $6. The Bower is definitely more of a treat than a casual experience, which is why it’s great to take advantage of their price deals. They also have extensive outside seating with a calming ambiance which makes eating at The Bower a must-do for the upcoming Spring months.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the reasons my friends and I love happy hour is because it is so refreshing to enjoy a leisurely meal during the warm afternoon hours talking and having fun, in comparison to a more formal dinner where we are more focused on whatever plans we have to get to after. And again, there’s no denying how enticing ; the added bonus of cheaper food and drinks is. ;</p>
