<p>As a lover of all things fashion related, I know how difficult it can be to keep up with the latest trends. There are obvious pieces worth the investment (think: the perfect leather jacket or a handbag you’ve been coveting for years), but sometimes splurging on trendier pieces seems like a waste. I feel like I’m always online shopping for <i>something, </i>whether it be new sweats or new going out tops. Sometimes I only even wear those new tops once or twice. I get frustrated when I’m trying to get ready, and I’m bored with my closet or regret past spontaneous purchases.</p>
<p>Recently, I became a campus representative for Rent the Runway, an online service that lets you rent clothes instead of purchasing them. As they put it, Rent the Runway allows you to try out new trends with no strings attached. You can rent everything from work clothing to weekend wear to designer formal wear. Not only is it cheaper than regular online shopping (amazing for college budgets), but Rent the Runway offers designer pieces from hundreds of different brands. Rent the Runway is the perfect way to wear a new dress to every sorority formal or date party, wedding, or family event you have to attend, without breaking the bank.</p>
<p>Rent the Runway offers three different membership services. The first is RTR Unlimited, which allows you to rent four designer pieces at a time for $159 a month; you receive unlimited swaps and unlimited items with access to 475+ brands. The second option available is RTR Update, which allows you to have four pieces for 28 days; with RTR Update you receive one swap per month and 350+ brands to choose from. The final option is RTR Pro, which is an annual recurring subscription program for $29.95 with free shipping. The best part about Rent the Runway is if something doesn’t fit, you can send it back in exchange for the correct size for free. And, if you have completely fallen in love with something you’ve rented, then you can purchase it for a discounted price!</p>
<p>Rent the Runway’s vision is make busy women feel empowered and confident every day through their closets. The idea for the service came from the two co-founders, Jennifer and Jennifer, feeling like they had a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear (relatable). They refer to Rent the Runway as the world’s first “closet in the cloud”—your dream closet with endless options.
