
<p>On your return back to New Orleans you may have noticed the addition of a gigantic spotlight of Julius Caesar on the Superdome with the words “Caesars Superdome” written beneath it. Formerly known for 10 years as the Mercedes Benz Superdome, the football stadium has been renamed due to a new 20 year sponsorship with Caesars Entertainment Inc.</p>



<p>According to the Associated Press, the agreement is worth $138 million. The Saints organization is expected to use this money to renovate and preserve the Superdome.</p>



<p>This purchase follows a 5 year commitment to the state from Caesars Entertainment Inc. The company has donated over $30 million to several Louisiana organizations.</p>



<p>The Superdome is a staple to the city of New Orleans. The stadium has served as a place of pride and comfort for New Orleans and Louisiana residents, Tulane students, and even non-huge sports fans like me.</p>



<p>Fans and nonfans around the country recognize the iconic Superdome as the home of the New Orleans Saints. The stadium often reflects the feeling of the city, whether it be showered in black and gold with thousands of screaming fans or a place of shelter for thousands after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.</p>



<p>The welcoming of Caesars Entertainment Inc. to the Superdome couples with a large investment into the city of New Orleans from the company. The company has spent millions already in hopes to improve the New Orleans economy as they are building an entertainment facility downtown.</p>



<p>The next Saints game is this Sunday at 12 PM CT. Proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hours is required to attend. The stadium will also go on to host many other festivals and events like the Essence Festival. The Caesars Superdome will also be the home of the 2025 Super Bowl.</p>
