<p>It is my favorite season of the year—and not just because my birthday is in December. While I hate the cold and I cannot stand the snow, I love everything else about the holiday season. I love driving around and seeing all of the sparkling Christmas lights. I love snuggling up by the fire with hot chocolate and my family. Most of all, I love the good old Christmas movies that put me in the holiday spirit. Here are some of my favorites that I suggest you watch sooner rather than later.</p>

<p>I am not going to lie: I watch <em>Elf</em> at least five times a year and not only is it my favorite Christmas movie, but it also might be one of my favorite movies of all time. Will Ferrell stars as Buddy, a regular boy who grew up in the North Pole and was raised as an elf. Silly, right? When Buddy leaves the North Pole to try to find his real father in New York City, Things. Get. Weird. Watch this movie if you want to pee your pants and laugh uncontrollably.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>2. </strong><em><strong>Home Alone</strong></em><img class="aligncenter wp-image-5096" src="https://tulanemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2-2.jpg" alt="2.jpg" width="306" height="455" /></p>
<p>In the mood for a classic? If you haven’t already seen <em>Home Alone</em>, you need to ASAP. But honestly, if you haven’t, you’re watching the wrong movies. Kevin is an eight-year-old kid that accidentally gets left behind from his family vacation during Christmas. When robbers break into his home, he realizes that it is up to him alone to save the day. This 1990’s family comedy was so good that four more sequels were made after the first. I am a fan of the entire series. <strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>3.</strong><em><strong> The Night Before</strong></em><img class="aligncenter wp-image-5097" src="https://tulanemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/3-2.jpg" alt="3.jpg" width="313" height="464" /></p>
<p>Have you seen <em>Neighbors</em> or <em>This Is The End</em>? <em>The Night Before</em> is another one of these hilarious comedies that is so ridiculous you will be laughing the entire time. Seth Rogan plays Isaac, a HUGE partier who is about to become a father. Isaac and his two best friends party hard every Christmas Eve and this seems to be the last Christmas that it will be acceptable for the three to do so; naturally, they go harder than ever. After finding the party of the year, the “Nutcracka Ball,&#8221; the three realize they got themselves into a crazy night. <em>The Night Before</em> may be a stupid comedy, but it is one that I highly suggest.</p>
<p><strong>4.</strong><em><strong> Four Christmases</strong></em><img class="aligncenter wp-image-5098" src="https://tulanemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/4-1.jpg" alt="4.jpg" width="323" height="479" /></p>
<p>I love a good rom-com, so when I first saw <em>Four Christmases</em>, a 2008 Christmas rom-com, I instantly knew it was going to become one of my favorites. What happens when an unmarried couple’s vacation gets canceled and they are forced to split their Christmas with their crazy families? <em>Four Christmases.</em> Grab your blanket and your hot chocolate, get cozy, and watch this hysterical comedy this winter.</p>
<p>I cannot wait to be done with finals and hopefully have nothing on my plate. I know that this winter break I will have a ton of free time, and what better way to spend the holiday season than with some of my favorite Christmas movies to put me in the holiday spirit. If you need me, you know where to find me: on the couch, in my pajamas, with the TV on. I hope you will be doing the same.</p>
