<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The world of fashion is ever-changing, with new models and styles introduced every season. We know the pros, like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Adriana Lima, and the lovely Kate Upton. However, there are some new faces this year that might be competition for these fashion veterans. 2019 fashion has already proven to be more diverse and representative than ever before, displayed clearly in the featured models of this year. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ugbad Abdi is representing Somalia well, becoming a rising star that </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vogue</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> has taken a particular interest in. She’s fresh out of high school and already accomplishing so much for a teenager; she was flown to Paris for Valentino’s spring show, and was featured in almost all of </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vogue’s </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fall 2019 big shows.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Chella Man has also been featured in </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vogue</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">, and has positioned himself as being representative of many minorities not often seen walking in Fashion Week. Chella is IMG’s first deaf and transgender model, a major feat for both the queer and deaf communities.</span></p>
<figure id="attachment_6060" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-6060" style="width: 600px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img class="alignnone wp-image-6060" src="https://tulanemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/Screen-Shot-2019-04-18-at-2.55.27-PM.png" alt="Screen Shot 2019-04-18 at 2.55.27 PM" width="600" height="337" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-6060" class="wp-caption-text">Teen Vogue</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">French model Cyrielle Lalande is not new to the fashion world, but 2019 might be the year for her to shine. She’s been on the radar for a while, but many new opportunities presented themselves for her this year. She’s walked in shows in cities all over the world already in 2019.</span></p>
<figure id="attachment_6061" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-6061" style="width: 598px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img class="alignnone wp-image-6061" src="https://tulanemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/Screen-Shot-2019-04-18-at-2.55.38-PM.png" alt="Screen Shot 2019-04-18 at 2.55.38 PM" width="598" height="375" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-6061" class="wp-caption-text">The Fashion Model Directory</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Selena Forrest was already ranked as one of the top 50 models in fashion in 2017, but 2019 might be her year as well. She shone in Spring 2019 New York Fashion Week, walking in more than ten shows. </span></p>
<figure id="attachment_6062" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-6062" style="width: 613px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img class="alignnone wp-image-6062" src="https://tulanemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/Screen-Shot-2019-04-18-at-2.55.43-PM.png" alt="Screen Shot 2019-04-18 at 2.55.43 PM" width="613" height="357" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-6062" class="wp-caption-text">The Fashionography</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s no secret that the fashion world can be toxic or exclusive. However, I’m optimistic about 2019 and the years following; doors are being opened and stereotypes are being pushed to the side when it comes to new models. We’re inviting diversity and acceptance into Fashion Week. </span></p>
