<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">April is finally upon us and with it, flowers are blooming, afternoon rain showers have begun, and the sweet feeling of summer freedom has begun to creep into the students of Tulane. We have started the process of producing our first physical zine, which we hope will be available before the end of the school year! This is an exciting process for all of us and something that we are itching to share with our readers and the rest of Tulane&#8217;s campus. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the process of producing our zine, we have also continued to write and upload articles onto our website. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">While we transition into this period of wanting to be as far away from a classroom as possible, our writers are still working hard to produce high quality articles about topics they truly care about. March was no different, and we had some wonderful pieces produced throughout the month.</span></p>

This article is a wonderful look into the Mardi Gras Indians and their extensive history in the city of New Orleans.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lucie Jain’s </span><a href="https://tulanemagazine.com/how-to-be-granola-in-nola/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">How to be Granola in Nola </span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> gives us some fantastic recommendations. New Orleans has night life like no other, but sometimes it’s nice to unplug and get out into nature. Try out some new restaurants or volunteer in your community– no matter what you do, keep the planet in mind.</span></p>

But sometimes, wonderful friendships flourish, and Sydney does a wonderful job of expressing that unique bond.</span></p>
<p>Sydney also gave us a fantastic article called <em><a href="https://tulanemagazine.com/how-to-get-back-into-reading/">How to Get Back Into Reading </a></em>t<span style="font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;">hat walks us through just that&#8211; reading for pleasure rather than for school. This has been a goal for many people throughout the beginning of the year and Sydney provides readers with some wonderful tips to jump back into a great hobby!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kaitlin Lowe gives us some wonderful insight into the world of being an investigative journalist in her article, </span><a href="https://tulanemagazine.com/how-to-succeed-in-investigative-journalism-an-interview-with-lee-zurik/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">How to Succeed in Investigative Journalism: An Interview with Lee Zurik.</span></i></a> <span style="font-weight: 400;">In her conversation with Fox 8’s Lee Surik, she learns about what it takes to be the person in charge of looking into issues that actually matter to New Orleans and its citizens. </span></p>
<p>Morgan Gurtz gave us a look into how makeup and beauty has become more diverse and inclusive with the article <em><a href="https://tulanemagazine.com/how-the-beauty-industry-has-evolved-throughout-the-years/">How the Beauty Industry Has Evolved Throughout the Years.</a></em>Morgan also explores how we have moved past testing on animals and how skincare has been simplified.</p>
<p><a href="https://tulanemagazine.com/youngest-sibling-syndrome/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Younger Sibling Syndrome</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, an article by Carlie Pavell, follows the emotional journey of Carlie finding who she is and simultaneously separating herself from her sisters while also trying to follow in their inspirational lead. This piece is a wonderful and heartfelt look into the internal dilemma that many younger siblings face as they grow and leave the nest.</span></p>

After Westwood’s passing last year, there was an outpouring of love and respect for the late designer, and Dani does a phenomenal job of looking back on the important moments of Westwood’s career and what helped to make her so iconic. </span></p>
