<p>Welcome to the first installment of The Crescent’s Boutique Spotlight feature! This week, we’re focusing on Ghosts of New York, a new vintage shop located within walking distance of Tulane’s campus at 4719 Freret Street. With thrift shopping being all the rage right now, vintage shops seem to be popping up more and more frequently. Ghosts of New York is our own personal haven to find the coolest unique pieces!</p>

<p>Originally based in New York City, this shop has a sleek NYC loft vibe with unique pieces perfect for those who seek trendy but exclusive items at a reasonable price. Owner Robert Jackson grew up in New Orleans and got into fashion while in New York City, where he met his business partner. Their aesthetics of vintage and modern combined to form a store that encompasses different but wearable styles, perfect for the New Orleans vibes.</p>

<p>Some things I saw in abundance at Ghosts of New York that are key finds at vintage stores:</p>
<ul>
<li>Statement Jackets: this store has tons of cool jackets that tie together an outfit. Pairing a black T-shirt, black jeans, and a funky jacket is a great way to take your look to the next level!</li>
<li>Graphic Tees: Graphic T-shirts are the perfect way to balance the “casual but put together” look, AKA my everyday class outfit. While stores like Forever 21 have a large selection of graphics, vintage shops guarantee the shirt you’re getting is exclusive and authentic.</li>
<li>Hats: Nothing tops off a look quite like a hat! Whether it’s a large floppy hat or a simple baseball cap, a cool one-of-a-kind hat is a great way to pull together an otherwise simple outfit.</li>

Ghosts of NY is the perfect store for those who love that something-new, something-borrowed look. Mixing new, trendy pieces with authentic, vintage pieces will make your outfits irreplaceable, so hit up this awesome new store ASAP!</p>
