<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last week, Michael Kors debuted his Spring/Summer 2026 collection at New York Fashion Week, and it was nothing short of amazing. Amazing enough to pack his front row with some of your favorite celebrities, decked out in Michael Kors, obviously. Gwenyth Paltrow, Olivia Wilde, Law Roach, Olivia Jade, Suki Waterhouse, and Tulane’s very own, Ashtin Earle, were all in attendance. The </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Project Runway</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> star showcased 56 looks in his ready-to-wear collection this season.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The runway featured some of the biggest models of today, including Alex Consani, Anok Yoi, and Paloma Elsesser. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It wouldn’t be a Michael Kors collection if it weren&#8217;t luxurious and tailored. Above are some of the best blazers featured in the show. A personal favorite is the synced waist brown blazer. The tailored, pleated shorts are such a fun twist to a traditional suit. The same goes for the pop of yellow, which has been in this past season. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This show reflected the recent craze with the “Isabel Marant girl”. The same goes for Ralph Lauren’s show and a handful of others this week. We’re seeing a lot of loose-fitting items and softer fabric choices, which is new for Kors—especially, the fringe detailing in the collection: very boho, western, Marant. While the collection showcases the boho chic aesthetic, it also resembles the softness and sophistication of some recent Chloe pieces. But what keeps it Kors is the more minimalist and mature approach to the pieces. No loud patterns, but rather sleek, neutral tones with exquisite tailoring, asymmetrical hems, and sharp edges.</span><img class="aligncenter wp-image-16674" src="https://tulanemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/Screen-Shot-2025-09-27-at-2.24.08-PM.png" alt="" width="216" height="341" /></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fringe seemed to be a theme in this collection, which we&#8217;ve seen creeping back into style after a long holt since the 2010s. The extremely long, fringe earrings made of leather were definitely the standout piece that tied almost every look together. Not only did these earnings help create a cohesive collection, but the leather, combined with the movement of the fringe, made the perfect juxtaposition of hard and soft. Not to mention the other leather accessories mixed with the soft, flowy dresses. Accessories were key in this show. Whether it be the long, statement necklaces or the fringe purses, the accessories are what brought this runway to life.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 41st Michael Kors show to walk the NYFW runway was a hit. This show perfectly encapsulated where fashion is headed in terms of ready-to-wear. I would have loved to see a little more color as we transition to spring and summer, especially as we move away from the “clean girl” aesthetic. However, based on his market demographic, this show felt appropriate, safe, and authentic, all while keeping with the times.
