<p>We all know that New Orleans has some of the best food in the country. Whether its beignets at Café Du Monde, fried chicken from Willie May’s, or a gourmet traditional meal from Commander’s Palace, we undoubtably have access to some seriously good food, and the whole world knows it.</p>
<p>In recent years, New Orleans has become the Hollywood of the South, using its unique and charming landscape as the background of many hit TV shows, and many of these TV shows have featured some of our fave restaurants as extras.</p>

<p>Café Du Monde, arguably one of the most famous restaurants in New Orleans, has been featured on dozens of reality TV shows because of their mouth-watering beignets. These donuts heaped in powdered sugar have been a local favorite since 1862. This New Orleans delicacy has been the star of countless TV shows, including <em>Man Vs. Food</em>, <em>Food Paradise</em>, and <em>Delicious Destinations</em>. But Café Du Monde’s spotlight didn’t just shine in Food and Travel channels but also has been featured on <em>Keeping Up with the Kardashians.</em> In a 2008 episode, we watch the Kardashians unable to leave New Orleans without trying our favorite New Orleans treat.</p>

<p><em>Man vs Food</em>, a TV show that follows its host, Adam Richman, across the U.S. in pursuit of the biggest and most outrageous food that America has to offer, is a frequent guest of New Orleans. He has hit places ranging from Acme Oyster House, conquering the 15 dozen-oyster challenge, to Mother’s Restaurant, where he sat back with the “Ferdi Special” (don’t try this at home). Mother’s Restaurant is especially noteworthy due to the constant presence of a line around the block everyday of the week. They are especially famous for the “World’s Best Baked Ham,” though their Jambalaya and Po’ Boys are also to die for.</p>

<p>Restaurants in New Orleans aren’t only the scene for reality TV shows. In <em>American Horror Story: Freak Show</em>, Camellia Grill was used as part of the set. Camellia Grill is know for its classic 50’s diner atmosphere, all day breakfast, and noted friendly service.</p>
<p>A less well-known show on HBO, <em>Treme</em>, follows the real stories of the oldest African American communities in New Orleans coming home post-Katrina. Some reviews claim that it is the most accurate representation of life immediately after the hurricane. <em>Treme</em> takes viewers all throughout New Orleans highlighting some hidden gems such as Bullet’s Sports Bar, which is known for its live R&;B on Sundays, and Vaughan’s Lounge, a popular jazz bar in the Bywater.</p>

<p>New Orleans in general is a city that is world renowned for its food and with the presence of these TV shows, it will not go unnoticed. The city has incredible food from Uptown all the way down to the Bywater, so definitely check some of these places out if you want a guaranteed classic NOLA experience.</p>
